Live Artists Have to Eat

     "Live Artists Have to Eat" is the studio name of painter, conceptual artist and photographer Clive Promhows.

     My studio is an artistic umbrella in which I encompass all my varied projects; fine art, film, photography and charity work.

     While residing in Miami Beach I honed my painting and artistic skills under the famed English Faux finishing artist and muralist Leonard Pardon.

     For eight years I worked with some of the most talented art directors, production designers and architects in the US today. Pushing the envelope of artistic creativity to the absolute limits and beyond. Bringing to life whatever visions the various clientele wanted.

     My work is a search for the internal truth that is inherent in all of us as human beings.  To find that very fine line between chaos that is very prevalent in our lives to the balance and flow of our internal being.

     After living in Miami Beach for sixteen years I felt I had reached a pivotal point in my career and decided to relocate to Wisconsin to reflect on the series of events that had occurred after 9/11. So for three years I retreated to the quiet seclusion of the country to think about my work and myself.

     After my hiatus and in need of external stimuli, I relocated to Milwaukee. Coming across the historic "Arts Building" in the Fifth Ward, I knew I had found my perfect studio space.

     I now work with such clients as Carson Pirie Scott & Company (The Boston Store), Allan Knox Photography as well as traveling for varied project all over the country.
